Aer Lingus
Mar 29th, 2016 at 5:40am

Shortly after I took off on an Aer Lingus flight from Dublin to Boston a few weeks ago, air hostess nervously announced that the catering department made a terrible mistake. A big mix up she said. Although 226 passengers on board they received only 80 dinners. She apologised but said that anybody who is kind enough to give up their meal to somebody who is hungry would receive free unlimited drinks for the remainder of the flight. The next announcement came 2 hours later when she said, ' If anybody is hungry we still have 80 dinners available.

Hoppy,

Why didn't you let us know you were coming to Dublin ? We could have met up.

Then I could have established if national stereotyping is the full extent of your wit.

Peter.

Could have been Air NZ, although experienced fliers would have known that you get free drinks anyway, so you might as well get the food too.

And memories of the last flight I was on from Oz to NZ where I helped drink the champagne supply dry (along with a few others helping too).

Many years ago, I was on a British Air flight from London to Stockholm.  The flight attendants announced that they had bad news.  The people who load booze onto the plane had gone on a spontaneous strike, so there was no booze for the flight.  Then they said, "So we've decided to let you open up your duty free."

That was the drunkest plane flight I have ever been on in my life!   Cheesy

I was on a 9 hour flight that recently ran out of booze 3 hours in, as a frequent flyer I had to point out to the inexperienced novice crew where the back up bars can be found in the main galley.....Good old BA!
