Paroxamal Hemicrania
Aug 5th, 2016 at 7:49am

I was diagnosed iwth MS in 1997 and was put on Avonex. In 2011 I was hospitalised with severe headaches and put on new treatment Copaxone. In late 2012 i again experienced terrible headaches which lasted for 1.5 years ( i tried all the normal trteaments Verapamil,Sumitptan, Nerve Blocks etc but to no avail. Eventually I tried Indomethacian and became headache free and was diagnosed with Paroxamal Hemicranania. Recently severe headaches have returned. Has anyone had a similar experience or any advice greayly appreciated. I have a suspicion that it is Copaxone related but the medics suggest that it is not generally a headache trigger

Hey Horseleap,

Welcome to CH.com.  You've come to the right place.  Although I've tried Indomethacian, I don't have any first hand or personal experience with Paroxamal Hemicranania.  That said, we've found that most of the TACs respond to vitamin D3 therapy.

I've sent you a PM with some information on both MS and Paroxamal Hemicranania you might find useful in discussions with your neurologist.  You can find your PM InBox under the date in the upper left corner of this screen.  Click on the bold font You have

Take care and please keep us posted.

You love lots of things if you live around them. But there isn't any woman and there isn't any horse, that’s as lovely as a great airplane. If it's a beautiful fighter, your heart will be ever there

Indomethicin really is beaut when it comes to paroxysmal hemicrania . It may not always work same day, so allow it a bit of time, and you should also have been given some tummy-saving pills to take as well. (Very, very important.)

Have you tracked down any triggers yet?
