G'day Thierry,
It's not a bad drop, but then coming from France I wouldn't expect anything less  Smiley.

Hi Hoppy,
How are you?
I hope you are still enjoying that French wine?
I am sometimes tempted to have a tipple myself but it really wouldn''t be good for me.
Haven't had a drop for over 16 years, 1 day at a time.
I hope you're keeping well.
I'm busy with a lot of work at the moment so i don't get much of a chance of popping in here.
Taking Batch's D3 regimen every day religiously, as well as Turmeric powder and a good probiotic and that's keping the beast at bay  Smiley Smiley Smiley
I nearly lost the top part of a finger a week ago when I was cutting a small piece of timber with a table saw, the blade went accross the top of the finger near the base of the nail and about half way down. Went to hospital quickly, they were brilliant, was seen instantly, got xray that showed that some of the bone got cut off. had an amazing head nurse do some great work at trying to restore the top of the finger and got some stitches.
I went back to see that nurse yesterday, she had a look at the finger and was amazed at how fast and well the wound is healing. I have a feeling the D3 regimen has something to do with the great healing  Smiley.
Thanks Batch for that as well.

All the best to you and yours

Thierry

I'm sorry to hear you got hurt. Being a carpenter, working in a shop, I've seen a lot of table saw injuries. I hope you heal well and are feeling better soon. Remember, only the tooth of the blade should be above the wood you are cutting

Take care of yourself

Hey Peter, indeed D3 rocks  Smiley.

Ilndguy,

Yea, a second on inattention was all it took.
I used to do a lot more carpentry work but I now manage the construction of film sets. I often am too busy to get my hands on the tools. I have 2 jobs on at the moment, one is a fairly decent budget film with numerous sets in different places and the other (just finished) was the construction of a large size haunted house for a Halloween event where people pay to get in and get scared, Multimedia File Viewing and Clickable Links are available for Registered Members only!!  You need to Login or Register; . It is on that smaller project that i got to do some carpentry myself as i didn' t hire a large crew. I like doing some of the work with my hands too. I am grateful that the accident on the saw isn't much worse. I was able to get back working the next day.
Most of all I am grateful for having my life back thanks to Batch's D3 regimen and the members on this forum that I feel are like a bunch of friends with which we can talk and exchange about this beast that only us can understand.

Hope you didn't ruin the bit of wood you were working on with the blood!

I'm pretty sure that the D3 regime helps with stuff like this from experience.

Hi Thierry,
Yeah! Still having a tipple at Dinnertime, and being Spring here down under is amazing! I could never do this at this time of the year in the past without triggering the  Smiley, but the vitamin D regimen is still doing it's magic and keeping the  Smiley at bay.

Sorry about your finger! Hoping it's still healing well.

Cheers Hoppy

Golly...I'm sorry for that mishap Thierry. Sounds like you thankfully escaped mostly intact!

Having been around band saws for many years... I recall... with the quivers... searching for sawyers  "lost" parts on several occasions. One time a blade tooth tip caught my thumbnail and threw my hand back and over my head. I'm a seriously "white" dude...expect I was marshmallow white after that......with a new found respect.....................

No worries on wood staining Mike...that friggin D3...well, among all it's other miracles... no stains...see Tom Waits:

That's right, it fillets, it chops, it dices, slices,
Never stops, lasts a lifetime, mows your lawn
And it mows your lawn and it picks up the kids from school
It gets rid of unwanted facial hair, it gets rid of embarrassing age spots,
It delivers a pizza, and it lengthens, and it strengthens
And it finds that slipper that's been at large
Under the chaise lounge for several weeks
And it plays a mean Rhythm Master,
It makes excuses for unwanted lipstick on your collar
And it's only a dollar, step right up, it's only a dollar, step right up
'Cause it forges your signature
If not completely satisfied, mail back unused portion of product
For complete refund of price of purchase
Step right up

Swim in it, sleep in it,

Removes embarrassing stains from contour sheets, that's right

Tired of being the life of the party?

Change into a nine-year-old Hindu boy, get rid of your wife,
And it walks your dog, and it doubles on sax
Doubles on sax, you can jump back Jack, see you later alligator
See you later alligator
And it steals your car
It gets rid of your gambling debts, it quits smoking
It's a friend, and it's a companion,
And it's the only product you will ever need
Follow these easy assembly instructions it never needs ironing

Hi Mike NZ, i was able to use the piece of timber so no wastage there, fair bit of blood on the table saw though, gave it a good clean!

Hoppy, is great to hear that the beast is staying clear of your head.

Jon019, band saws scare the shit out of me, only had to use one many years ago and am glad to say that I haven't gone near one since.

Thanks guys for the words of support, they're all appreciated.
Doc says healing is going great, I'll be starting physio next monday.

All the best

Thierry

The work we did in the shop was build displays, mostly for the auto shows. I used to travel the US setting up the displays in most of the big cities. One year when the auto shows are over, the season runs from late September to April, we rented out the warehouse to a movie production company and we built the sets. That was very interesting. We even got to watch them film parts of it. The movie was Harold and Kumar Christmas.

I remember my 8th grade shop teacher telling us, do not cut yourself on the table saw because the blood will rust the metal.

Take care

Ilndguy

Hey Thierry,

We're travelling at the moment so not looking in here as often as usual.

Sorry to hear about your accident. The HSE is great when it works.

Recover soon,

Peter.

Thierry,

We're in Naples. Off to Sorrento today. Lovely weather, but due home on Sunday, I'm afraid.

Great work there Thierry.  Do you do work for Ardmore Studios? I heard they are up or sale.

Peter.
