weirdest cycle yet????WTF
Jul 11th, 2017 at 1:27pm

So here I am a month and a half into my 7th and strangest cycle. I'm starting to wonder if something else is going on since my cycles are always over by now. For the first 30 days it was every night at 8pm Kip8-9 like usual. And of course during the daytime if I touched any alcohol. Oxygen does not work quite as well this time either. So now after 30 days of hell my cycle has morphed into "shadows" on and off during the day and then stronger after 5pm then a kip 5 at night. I want my beer again!!!! How much longer???? WTF?

It is well recognized that CH can change over time both within cycles and between cycles. This can take the form of different cycle lengths, going between episodic and chronic, different medications working, different triggers and more.

If you're concerned about it, the best advice is to check up with your headache specialist, especially if you think something else may be happening. It is easy to put everything down to CH. So it may be just CH changing things on you, but getting it checked out will put your mind at ease.

Welcome to CH, the ever-changing, yet ever the same beast that afflicts us when we think we have a handle on it. It is known to change from cycle to cycle, and sometimes day to day (seems like it anyway.) Mike gave you good counsel. If you are concerned, have it checked out. There are a number of other issues that can mimic CH in some respects. "But I thought it was CH," is not a very good epitaph. On the other hand, it does change, generally getting worse, rather than better in the early days. Then, too, if you are taking medications for it you will sometimes find its patterns will change without necessarily improving. I credit Verapamil and Lithium for taking me chronic, for instance.

I'd suggest you keep a journal, recording times of attacks, duration, and levels. This could be helpful to your doctor, if you have one who has a clue.
