Canadian Renting Tanks in Houston TX
Jul 5th, 2018 at 10:47am

Hello!!  My husband and I are traveling to Houston and we are having a heck of a time finding a company that will rent oxygen tanks as we are out-of-country.  Does anyone know a company that will rent to us with a deposit/cash?  Thank you SO much!!! I have an email in to Lincare and Life Gas - but America Home Patient has turned us down.

G'day ABC,  and welcome.  I'm in Oz where systems are vastly different so perhaps I can't answer your question,  but did you know that welding oxygen is exactly the same stuff?  Perhaps you can contact welding suppliers and do it that way instead,  without the need for a prescription or rigmarole.

Not sure about the different connections,  of course,  but on the left side of your screen is a list of buttons and the one marked
oxygen info
  may offer some clues.

All the best and please let us know how you get on.

Cheers ever,

Brian down under

I've rented a tank in Australia one time when I was over there from NZ with no issues, so the international thing can be done (maybe visit Australia instead?).

What might help is to ring up each place and talk through the process, rather than going via an automated online account opening process or similar. You will probably need to send them a doctor's letter or similar, remembering that the US is highly careful around avoiding any liability risk (too many lawyers).
