Thanks to all of you who were pulling for me today! It's fantastic to know you have so many friends pulling for you!
Today ended up being nothing more than one of those small steps in the right direction (hopefully). The neurosurgeon I saw here in Wichita today basically said he had no experience with Moyamoya and I should be seen by someone who has dealt with it before. He said he had done the surgery once, but would have to "review" the procedure before he would ever be able to try it again!
As you can imagine, I jumped right in at that point to voice my opinion about referrals. He agreed to send my AF doc's a letter telling them I needed to see someone "more experienced" in the Moyamoya field. He even suggested a few of the same doctors I already knew about and had on my own list!
So, no real "news" today. Just looks like I get to 'hurry up and wait' some more until they can get me into someone who can do the surgery. Who knows when that'll be!
