Hi,
Just wanted to let you know that my husband has had success with Gravol [Dramamine in the states] - 3 before bed.....for some reason, this prevents you from getting into the REM phase of sleep, even though it does make you feel sleepy and makes you fall asleep. It is during the deeper phase of sleep that the CH hits him and by preventing this phase, he has been able to avoid the middle of the night monsters. Sure, you're not getting the deep sleep but at least your getting some rest and a break from the headaches for a few hours. He's also had big success using the water treatment and O2. Also I keep three of those gel-filled ice packs in the freezer at all times and he holds them on the back of his neck. He's tried all the drugs and has been a lab rat for many a doctor. The "natural" treatments have worked the best for him in his 20+ years of CH experience. His cycles last anywhere from 8 weeks to 12 weeks and he will have up to 8 headaches a day at the peak. His cycles usually hit when we change the clocks but so far, this year, we've been able to hold this cycle off by faithfully watering him....keeping our fingers crossed.
Just some suggestions and hope you both find relief soon - or at least one good night's sleep so you can fight the buggar's off!
Pain free days ahead.
Margi
