Cluster's are typically one-sided and last less than a couple of
hours at a time. The really bad thing is they occur daily and for
many they occur multiple times daily. My eye tears on the effected
side. I get a burning/boring pain in my temple in a mild attack,
which spreads to the whole side of my face and head and down the
back and side of my neck in a severe attack. I've gone 3 years with
out an episode, and now they are back. What a nightmare. If the meds
are not breaking the cycle, sometimes an increase is necessary. I'm
now on 20mg 4X per day of Prednisone. Not great for the immune system
but well worth it at this point in time. Stadol nasal spray made me
feel wierd the first couple of times, but seems to knock the pain down
pretty well until the Prednisone started doing it's trick. Now back to
a residual burning in the temple. Hopefully it will stay this way for
a week or so, and the cycle be done! Best wishes, Rich
