Margi's right about giving your mom space. From my own experience I can say the clusterhead only wants to be left alone until the pain is gone. When I say left alone I mean please don't talk to me, it sound like a bull-horn in the ear. Please don't touch me, it hurts to be touched. Please don't turn the lights on, it hurts the eyes. Please just wait in the other room, as quietly as you can, and wait for the cluster to run it's course. I know it can be very hard for you to do this but it must be that way. Having a loved one near when the pain is over is a great comfort.
