OUCH is being put together. It's just gonna take a little time. We are still talking about holding the convention in August of 2000 aren't we? That was the original date set.
That will give us over a year to get OUCH noticed and running well. By then, MAYBE we'll have some "grant" money (yes, we're checking into that also). There is still the possibility a drug company (or several) will help with the convention. By then we'll have a Newsletter going out (we're still brainstorming on that one) and maybe getting some publicity. Once we're established, we can get more publicity.
All this is going to take time and I know no one on this site has less patience than me, but..... hang in there - it WILL get done. (My attorney is working on the Charter now - can I help it if he's slow as molasses in January?) Once that's done, we then have to get the IRS to approve us as a nonprofit organ. (I'll get that done - that's actually what I do for a living). We've had a lot of people offer to help and we're trying to put everyone's talents to the best use.

As far as Vegas being hot - do they have sunlight there? I've never noticed!
In the meantime: We're trying to get a mailing list for a database (for when we get the newsletter and for a membership roster). It's been noted that a lot of CHers are NOT on the internet (imagine that!), SO, to get this list together we're gonna need some info on each of you: Name, address, telephone, e-mail. There's a lot of paranoia about giving out info, but we're working on that one too. Right now, if you're NOT really paranoid about giving out this info, if you'll send this info to me (e-mail or by letter). You can send it to: Barbara D. Henderson, 807 E Broadway, Gladewater TX 75647 or e-mail me at bcenter123@aol.com. We've had a CHer offer to set up our database for us, so I will MAIL him the info - not put it on the net. But this is something YOU can do to help us right now.
