Well, I just turned 59 and have been having CH for
about 20 years. Up until last year I had them under
control with Cafergot. However, during a sequence of
international business trips I started taking Melatonin
to help me sleep. It became a habit. Every night
for about 90 days I took Melatonin. Then all of a
sudden I stated to get into a CH cycle. But this
time they were different. My ususal CH would occur
at 1-2 AM. This time they were hitting me during
the day when at work. I thought I was going crazy.

One day after leaving work having taken several Cafergot.
I headed to the drugstore to pick up a steroid to
break the cycle. The phamacist told me to start taking
them the next morning. Upon arriving home I started
searching the Internet to find out what was new. I
found a post from a person that said that he felt
his headaches were directly connected to Melatonin!

Needless to say I did not take Melatonin that evening.
NO HEADACHES! I never took the steroid and the CHs
have been gone for a year until 2 months ago.

Now I find myself in a longer than ususal cyele.
In the past it has always been 3-4 weeks.... Now I
into 7 weeks and still have them. I am still using
Cafergot and occasionally Migranal when a CH gets away
from me.

My suggestion if you are getting CHs and are using Melatonin
is to stop and see if they stop immediately like they
did with me.
