When I was at the Houston Headache Clinic (I wouldn't recommend it to anyone), they tried that, but I guess my concentration was centered on the pain. I did fine as long as I wasn't hurting, but when the headache hit -that was it for the meditation.
Hope it works for you. My brother had cancer and used it, but I think his consentration was a lot higher than mine.
