Verapamil definetly stopped my clusters, but I did notice fatigue at work and after he doubled the dosage ( 180mgs did not work that well ), I felt burned out after the work day. I started taking Effexor XR and Elavil and my energy level has began to increase. One other thing; the verapamil caused some depression. SSRI's are commonly used to treat CH's probably because seretonin and other endorphines seemed to be involved in some way. If the side effects of verapamil do not cease, I would ask your doctor about the use of elavil or SSRI's or effexor
