Bobby,

Thank you for sharing parts of your story. My name is michael and I am new to this board by only a few days. I have read many of the postings and in many ways they have comforted me, knowing I am not the only one suffering in this way.
About 3 years ago, after many doctors, I was able to see a neurologist and was diagnosed with CH. He put me on a blood thinner (not sure what it was anymore), and a pain medicine. After what seemed like an eternity, but was only about a month the headaches passed. Through the next couple of years I would get very mild ones, but nothing like it was when they first started; until now. I have been back to miserable for about 5 days now. Living in a new state, I have to go through all the same steps again to find a neurologist that I can get in to see. This is a holiday weekend, and the best I can do at this point is the emergency room.
Went to the ER friday night and they at least gave me vicodin which doesnt really touch the headaches, but is most entertaining. I have at least 2 a day, sometimes more. A very dear friend loaned me some prednisone that I am taking as well. (I know, I shouldn't take other peoples meds, but I am willing to try anything.)
I sit here this morning, after being up most of the night with one after another, gaps in between of relief that last only about a half an hour at a time. The pain seems to start in my teeth and gums on the left side; work it's way up around my ear and then finally begin to pierce my temple and eyesocket. I have in front of me: water, coffee, chocolate (I don't know, sometimes it helps), all the meds I can find, and frozen vegetables that make the icepack for my head and face. The thing that struck me was you mentioned oragel for your teeth and gums. I haven't heard or read anyone elses symptoms being in the mouth, but that is where mine usually starts.
Sometimes the combinations will work for a short time, and times like the last few hours -- I can't find the right place. I am trying desperately not to begin the injuries to the side of my face and head. I try to meditate, pray, read, pace back and forth, run, drive, ANYTHING!
The small pieces of sleep that I have gotten the last 24 hours have even been scattered with nightmares about my skull and brain being wounded.
THis is torment, and I do NOT take pleasure in knowing there are others feeling this way, but it is comforting in some strange way to know that I am not alone. I am a single 32 year old male that lives alone, and as many times I wish there were someone here to share my torment with me in some supportive way, I am thankful that my friends and extended family do not have to see me suffer like I am doing.
I have tried to make as much sense as I could while writing this, but am beginning to slip into another one. Time to make more coffee. My heart goes out to ALL of you who suffer, may your days and nights be well again soon.

Michael
