Electric massager as relief for CH.

I've suffered from CH for the past 35 or so years. Sometime about 20 years ago I got a headache while in the barbers chair. He used a massager, the type strapped to the back of his hand to massage my head. Headache gone. So, I went out and bought one. I used it to provide relief for years. While it did not always abort the headache, it did feel better than doing nothing. Now, having said that, I would not recommend doing what I did.

Why? About 2 years ago I was driving to work and my retina detached, flooding the inside of my eye with blood. I was blind in that eye (same side as my CH). Lucky for me they were able to reattach the retina, but it took 3 laser surgeries and two vitrectomys with the installation of a sclearal buckle. The doctor figured that the vibration caused by using the massager probably caused the vitrious fluid to pull at the retina and detach it. I was lucky.

Just in case you may be thinking about using a massager, think twice.

Phil
