Clusters and Viagra....with advance apologies

Hey kids!! So here I am at 3:30am - just finished pacing, and I’m experiencing a little “relief
euphoria” - but I’m not tired enough to lay back down and wait for “round two” yet. Usually at
times like these, I find myself pondering all sorts of weird things, none of which seem nearly as
profound when the cold light of day arrives. That said, I’ll share tonight’s “brainstorm” with all
of you so I’ll feel good and stupid in the morning. Here goes:
I saw a special news report on Viagra. Doctors were discussion the relationship between Viagra
and male testosterone levels, as well as the circulatory benefits of the drug. Obviously, this got
me thinking about the supposed relationship between increased testosterone levels and clusters,
as well as the circulatory nature of our headaches. One doctor said that Viagra helped regulate
testosterone, which means it doesn’t necessarily increase the level of the hormone. So Vince
starts thinking “does this mean Viagra has the potential to help cluster headache sufferers -
namely ME???” I decided to put it to the group here. If any male CH victims out there already
have a prescription for Viagra and feel daring enough to try, would you care to take a dose
during an episode to see if it aborts the headache? I thought of trying this myself, but I’m too
embarrassed to ask my doctor for a Viagra prescription using clusters as the excuse. Besides, my
wife has enough problems on her hands when I wake her up in the middle of the night during an
attack. Could you imagine what would happen if I was on Viagra? “Honey, .......uh........this time
it’s gonna take more than the backrub......” Oh well, what can I say? It was just a fleeting
thought. Perhaps I should get back to bed now. Don’t worry, I won’t be offended if this post
doesn’t inspire any responses!! Take care -- Vince
