I am currently trying self-hypnosis to deal with residual and constant pain that I have following an ill-advised attempt to get a Ford Fiesta up a tree some ten years ago. I basically broke most of what I own south of the Mason-Dixon line, and rearranged my jawline, as well as a selection of ribs, shoulder, and so on. I've tried all sorts of analgesics and have found that in the quantities I need to take to make a serious impact on the pain, I end up wandering around in a daze. First experiments,(I only reached page twenty in the book when the CH came back) seem encouraging. It requires a degree of calm and relaxation which is just not possible during a bout of CH, but I wondered if anybody out there across the pond had tried hypnotherapy during a remission as a preventative, and with what results. I am keen to beat this thing without resorting to so much medication that I end up looking like Keith Richards on a bad day.
Any experience anybody?
