Nikki,
Sorry you're having such a hard time. I don't know anything about how the drugs might affect having children. Mine are all grown now, and my wife never had CH.
But I will mention one thing I have had experience with. I too have taken major doses of caffeine (excedrin, coffee, Caffergot, chocolate etc.) to make the CH go away. They work great for a short period of time. Then you need more and more to do the same job. Then a dump truck full of caffeine won't help. That's when I have had my worst CH, for 12 or more hours at a time. Caffeine is a big rebound abortive . . . pay me now, or pay me more later. Imitrex has been an angel from heaven for me. I take shots, and the CH is gone in 5 minutes tops. Also, lots of folks on the message board like Verapamil as a preventative. Read up on it. And be sure to increase dosages from 240, to 360, to 480 for a few days each, if the low dosages don't work. And by all means keep drinking the water. It has worked well for me in making the times between CH much longer. Also, stay away from MSG, salt (not good with the water therapy Dr. Jerry says), and some say dairy products and eggs. At least that has helped me. Don't know what might help others.
I know when the CH strikes, we'll do anything to make the pain stop, but caffeine makes it worse in the long run. Sorry.
BE WELL!
Steve W
