OK....here we go. I am directing this not to the group but to the Bob guy who responded to my post. What in the hell does GOD have to do with the HIV? Do you feel it is a punishment for being bad? Are YOU being punished for something that we don't know about? Is that why you have CH? I am not trying to flame anyone but this nonsense is really upsetting me. Was my friend Amy (a heterosexual, young woman in her 30s in NYC, who is unfortunately no longer with us) being punished with AIDS because she had an encounter one time with someone who was infected? Tell me about the little children! Are they being punished for the "sins of their fathers"? Tell me what my couple friend in Atlanta were being punished for. They were both professionals who were definitely not "high risk" for anything. Their young child became ill....it was AIDS. They had no idea where the virus came from. They ended up losing two young children to this disease. Were they being punished? I am sick and tired of people bringing GOD into this. (Mind you, I feel very respectful when I say this). I consider myself to be a person of integrity and good values. Essentially you say because someone has HIV...they are being punished. I happen to love GOD and I don't feel that HE would do this. Did HE give you CHs? Just curious?? This bullshit has got to stop because you know what? This is why there is the fear and predjudice about people that are "different". What makes each of us different? We all are. No two people (outside of identical twins) are alike. Tell my friend the 60 year old heterosexual divorcee that she is being punished because she has HIV. She dated a man briefly and found out years later that she had been infected. If you did....I bet she would knock you on your ass. I hate to keep beating this into the ground....but my friend, being a Christian is more than spouting out cliches. I believe it is having compassion for ANYONE who suffers. I believe that is what Jesus did...isn't it? Enough said.
