The first time they put me on it I got the cataract and they didn't tell me. I was on taper then.
The next cycle they put me back on the stuff at 60mgs a day for 5 mos. I went to another doctor who said I was steroid poison and how could they do that to me. I got the moon face right away, loss hair, could hardly stand without holding on to something, the catarats grew, my nails got black dents in them, my immume system shut down, gained lots of weigh and got a hump around the back of the shoulders...ALL signs of steroid poison.
I've recently read that it can cause cancer...now isn't that strange, since I just had cancer surgery a month ago! Makes me wonder!! doesn't it you.
I've wondered if all that stuff that happened to the outside of my body, which some I will have to live with the rest of my life, what did it do to the inside of my body?? Maybe the cancer, huh? That is not proven but I heard from a lady whos friend got cancer from Prednisone, or that is what she said.
The part that makes me mad is that they knew I got cataracts the first time on lower dose, and within days my face turned into the moon face which is a sign of steroid poison, and that I shouldn't ever go back on it...but they put me back on the stuff at a higher dose an kept me there the very next cycle. And it didn't help the first time anyway. They never told me what that drug could do to you or that I got cataract from it the first time. I really felt let down by them. I have not gone back to that neuro.
