My Doctor gave me Imitrex and Amerge. He stated that the "unofficial" directions for the Amerge were//Use the Imitrex injection if needed then if my headache came back 6 to 8 hours later take the Amerge. A lot of people say that Amerge works in as little as 30 minutes. Took a lot longer to work for me. The good thing about Amerge is that the half life is longer than Imitrex. Hope this works for you!!
