Hello to all, first time I've posted to this forum tho i have been reading it for quite awhile. I have had CH for about 20 yrs now and have never found anything that really worked consistantly. What works one cycle doesnt work the next. What i'm curious about is how everybody else deals with the exhaustion following a CH. I go several days on only two or three hours of sleep a night until the next week end and then i collapse from exhaustion. I pace so much in the wee hours of the morning that i must walk a good 50 miles a day in my basement. I find this lack of rest and sleep almost as bad as the CH itself but i get really terrified of going to sleep because i know whats waiting in store for me. I notice that sometimes humidity affects the intensity and length of the pain. Had one yesterday while driving by myself from NC back to Md, thought it was going to kill me, had to pull the car over and suffer for three hours before it eased off enough for me to keep driving. The pain was so intense i was sweating like it was raining. About the only worse situation to get one is on a airplane where you cant really pace or walk it off, just sit there in the seat and suffer while people around you keep asking if your ok. Anyway I'm starting to ramble, its 04:30 in the morning here in Md and I'm typing this trying to get my mind off the pain, i've found that focusing my mind elsewhere sometimes works tho it takes alot of energy out of you to do it and only works on mild to medium pain levels. I think this is a great forum for discussion on what works and doesnt work, alot better than useless repeat to the Doctors who really dont have a clue...would luv for them to sometimes get CH just so that they would know what it feels like...anyway the pain has subsided enough for me to grab an hour of sleep to get ready for the next one...good night..
