The DHE is very caustic, but it can be given by injection (hurts and leaves knots, but it does work that way also - just takes longer).

Also there is a post about cutting down the dosage of Imitrex. I talked to my neuro about it and he said that might stop a lot of the side effects. He has migraines and said he was going to try it with a smaller dose.

Talk to the doc about DHE injections. CAUTION: Do not take it without something for nauseau. I mix phenergan with the DHE for injections. Reglan is what most docs use, but it CANNOT be mixed with DHE. If you use it, it has to be given seperately (2 injections - give the Reglan first, wait a few minutes, then give the DHE). And another thing - do not give this stuff in an arm. Use the butt or a leg. It hurts too bad to give in the arm. But it does work.
