Hi John,
Welcome home. I'm the resident pain-in-the-a** supporter of the natural treatments for clusters. My husband has had big success with the following:
1. Water Treatment (do a search on Water in the button at the top of this page for details or email me..)
2. Oxygen - inhaling O2 at the onset can abort an attack for him if he catches it quick enough.
3. Dramamine - to help you get to sleep and stay there for the night...doesn't cure CH but at least it lets you get some sleep.
4. Ice Bags - those gel filled thingys - just lay them on the back of your neck or on your face, helps Mike to reduce the pain and calms him down.
5. Meditation/Calm - Mike has learned that the Beast gets real bored when he stays as calm as he can. If he does what the Beast wants and gets angry the Beast loves it and plays rougher with him.
Mike has tried most meds with zero success and these ideas have worked very well for him. He has avoided his spring cycle so far. The water treatment doesn't work for everyone but, you never know, you may be one of the lucky ones. Read the precautions though, it can really throw your system out of whack if you're not careful, AND you have to drink enough of the stuff. lcbob says he drinks two gallons a day. It broke Mike's last cycle after two days, completely ended it by the end of that week. Worth a shot.
Pain free days ahead.
WaterWoman
Margi
