I have been having clusters for 25 years, although I only found out what they were Friday. I just thought I had bad unexplainable headaches. Anyway, my Dr. has started me on Prednisone, and I have not had a HA since starting it, but the dull neck pain that was the precursor to a HA is still there. She also gave me Periactin to take at the onset of a HA, but all they seem to do is make me loopy.
My Dr also suggested vigorous physical activity at the first signs of a HA, and this worked for me yesterday. I assume it's a way to get more O2 without a tank.
