Me - 49 years old - first bout at 20.
Always episodic - bout lasts about 6 weeks and the period between bouts has grown from 1 year, to 2 years to my current 3 years.
Intensity of a single attack is about the same.
So my experience seems to be that I am indeed, outgrowing this thing.
