Dear Barbara D.
Last week, my sister & I were to pick up our Mother, to go shopping. We'd made arrangements to do so. When we got to her place, she was still in bed, & couldn't make sense of anything. She's diabetic, not bad though, so we first took her sugar levels. They were normal. She was not in pain, & we suspected a stroke, so we took her to the hospital. The doctors ran every kind of test imaginable, -CAT scans, MRIs, EKGs, etc. They found nothing to explain her problem & utimately said she suffered anxiety brought on by migraine headaches. They gave her a few new "Rxs" to add to her already HUGH! collection, & sent her home. She still appears to be having trouble keeping it together. Mother, in recent years has gone through a tramatic experience, that left her financially destitute. She has always been dramatic & does things for attention, so we who love her, are at a loss as to what's going on with her. She has been to one doctor after another, "shrinks" included. She is currently taking Serzone for depression, but is not moving on with her life. She appears to be sinking into a fantasy world, & we don't know what to do to help her. She insists she is very sick, but when doctors can't find anything to explain her recent behavior, we are at a loss. We can't help but feel like she's faking it, but at the same time, we'd like to give her the benefit of the doubt. As far as headaches, Mom says she hasn't suffered migraines for years. If you can shed any light on our experience as a result of your own, we'd greatly appreciate your insight. Thank you.
