Jude, the only thing I can say is get another DR. I'm one of those folks that imitrex, migranol, etc. do not work for. My only relief is oxygen (if taken within 15 minutes of the start of the H/a); or pain med. I know that pain med. has unpleasant side affects, for me it's sleepiness, but my GOD; are we still living in the dark ages where some DR. is going to allow suffering of immense proportions just because he/she is afraid of the addiction potential????? If pain med is managed correctly, by both you and your doctor, the possibility of abuse is practically nil. Yet, so many people are left to suffer because society in general has a drug addiction problem. You have an absolute right to a solution for your pain, NO ONE should have to suffer like this. By all means, try the non-narcotics first- they are the best solution; but if you're like me and you get no relief, DEMAND that your physician help you..... if not, find another DR. There are specialists about who deal specifically with pain management. Perhaps that's the route to take. But please, do not suffer in silence !!!!

Julie
