I lived in Robertston 2 miles past Helen right before the flea market on the left. I worked as a logger on a private wildlife preserve owned by Charles Smithhgal. I lived in a breakfast and bed house on the right-a big blue across the street from the local store. Charles was from Gainsville and bought pristine land around Duke's Creek Falls and owns all the land to the left of downtown Helen. He willed about 15000-20000 acres We were trying to replenish the land with indigeneus trees and herbs before the Dhalonaga Gold rush/Logging operations-Restorastion in other words. We used Belgian Draft hourses to skid the out the loblly pine to protect what was native to Nothern Ga. Fun work for the purpose and novelty of using draft horse.
