Ergotamine worked like a charm for me the first time it was given to me , but come the second time ( this year ) it didn't do much .
It's funny but , it seems that this CH is acting pretty much like a bad infection / virus . You administer antibiotics and a few years down the road it comes back with a bigger force .
Or like narcotics , as they say , there is nothing like the first High , after that it's all downhill .
But I was told that you are allowed a maximum of 10 ergos a week . Initially I was taking one a day . It did very little help .
Later on I took two at the onset of the attack in the morning , and 1 two hours later . It helped a lot . But I could only take it for three days . and maybe 1 on the fourth day . And then they would be back .
Side effects of ergotamine are mainly nausea , I think irregular heartbeat ...so on and so forth .
