There is a new term fr the aftermath of chronic pain sufferers, it is called chronic waste. It goes the gamut from cfs to severe atrophy. The only people I know who are listening and acknowledgingthis is the Chronic Pain Clinic that is part of the Johns Hopkins Hospital.
