One of the reasons why they did a study of all men, is that from what I understand, most women(not all) who are diagnosed as being cluster headache sufferers actually suffer from a very similar condition called Chronic Paroxysmal Hemicrania.

Apparantly a very effective treatment for C.P.H. is a drug called Indomethacin(Indocin). However, you can not take this med if you have kidney problems or ulcers. If ulcers or kidney problems exist, the abortive methods are the same as Cluster Headaches.

I got this information from The Headache Book written by Dr. Frank Minirth, founder of The Minirth Meier New Life Clinic.

Maybe totally bogus, but it would explain why they only tested men in the study........either that, or the clinicians were afraid their wives would get mad if they spent all that time studying other women ?:o)
