14 months of no headaches.. and just before my vacation CH struck again. Totally changed, mutated, hitting at unusual hours, not striking every two hours at night, but just going on and on and on... with peaks every two hours, I give you that.
Verapamil, that I trusted to keep the visitation away was powerless even at three times the dose. So there went another vacation.
Back home, my doctor who is very understanding and seems to know a lot about CH, gave me immigran to tide me over till he could arrange for O2 to be delivered.
I don't know, immigran seemed to make it WORSE.
Then the O2-wasdelivered. 5 big oxygen bottles, 3 small ones (for going out the man said), and two masks.
I didn't believe in anything anymore. But tried it. And then the bliss of the attack levelling ourt after 5 minutes of heavy breathing, the pain going away after 10...
Only trouble is, the attacks are still enjoying themselves, at night they come on every 90-105 minutes. So I drag myself out of bed and start on my oxbottle. I don't get a lot of pain anymore but still I don't sleep. Much. Could try to sleep in the daytime, see if I can fool them...
And maybe next week the attacks will be over and I may have some more months of freedom.
