Sounds like you've been having a ball.
My experience with the downers and narcs is the slight edge they take off the pain isn't worth the hangover and the droop when they're not there.
Clusters make hay when the sun shines and patiently (thats the idea anyway) survive the pain.
There's been enough things tried as preventative to keep a twice a year episodic busy for about thirty years.
If you don't like the side effects or you "can't live" with what you've got try something else. It will go away anyway which gets you confused at times.
What seemed to be the reason for a remission may not do anything the next time around. Happens to most of us.
