By some great stroke of luck, after being diagnosed with chronic cluster headaches this past January, my physician got in touch with a neurologist who specializes in female headaches. Her diagnosis was "Chronic Paroxysmal Hemicrania", which are a headache whose symptoms mirror cluster headache with two exceptions: The CPH headache sufferer is predominantly female, and the headaches occur more frequently (at least 5 daily) for shorter durations. The good news is that a prescription of Indomethacin stopped them immediately, and is virtually 100% effective for CPH. I strongly encourage any females suffering from cluster headache to consult their physician about this. I suspect that I am not the only female out there who was misdiagnosed with cluster headaches. Good Luck!
