I've seen a number of you mention that you work in various computer related fields, so I thought I'd see if anyone can help me out.
I use a Dell laptop, both at work and at home. At work, it parks in a docking station which is connected to a LAN. I just got an additional docking station and peripherals to use at home. The 'undocked' configuration doesn't look for the LAN on startup. When I docked it at home, it assumed I was at work. I read Help and found out how to create a new profile, but how do I set it up? BTW, the home docking station also has a built in NIC. What I want it to do is NOT assume that I'm supposed to be on a LAN at home, and use the same settings, etc as it does in undocked, except for the external kb, monitor, etc.
Since this is wayyyyyy off the topic of the board, please email me directly or ICQ me at 41013060, rather than us taking a whole thread for non-CH business. Thanks!
Keep the shiny side up.
Todd
