I've been episodic for 20 years. Four weeks into current episode. Finnaly found something that knocked out all but the early am ones but am confused about what it is thats working and have some fear of their return. Four days ago my G.P. started me on a second prednisone taper. The first was 80mg to 10 over 2 weeks. Didn't help noticeably. Migranal made me to sick but IMITREX which I hadn't used before really took the edge off some and aborted several yet the shadow was not only omnipresent but very disorienting too. Currently the Second prednisone taper at same Rx as first combined with Fiornal (1st time use as well) seem to have sent these beasts packing. Are they ; and here's my question, in retreat or simply lurking waiting for me to stop the pred or the fiornal? In these last four days I've managed to clear some of the wreackage of the 1st three weeks, but have missed too much work and had to send my son back to his mothers early for the summer. My typical episode has run about 9 weeks. The Fiornal will likely run out tomorrow and I'm sweating on my keyboard at the thought of descent again. Morning h/a returned sun but only 10% intensity. Today morning h/a at 30%. Am tempted to throw all the darn meds in the can because I just want to feel clear and fresh and light again. The conundrum here is that speaking relatively I feel so much better today than I did on any of the other meds and certaintly better than on no meds(tried every thing I could read about and do the first several days. Remember that raw, raw ,hair pulling take me away pain! this CH stuff is real dear docs. Should I see G.P. FOR YET ANOTHER UNINSURED VISIT TO GET A MEASLY BOTTLE OF 30 PILLS? Or just ride it out and hope that for this bout I can get by with just a pred taper. And yes these are questions I should be asking him but this message board has earned more of my trust lately so thought i'd bounce these concerns here 1st. If you read this whole thing thanks. And if your heads in your hands alot i wish you goodness and courage.
