I fully understand your anger towards an obviously insensitive supervisor and many of us often use this site as a place to vent. We consider venting here an inalienable right, and encourage all to do so in order to get past the anger and stress.
My boss has a saying - The difference between ignorance and stupidity is that ignorance can be educated-stupidity is incurable. Consider giving your supervisor one more chance and direct him to this site. Perhaps if he would read some of the posts here, he would become more educated and change his approach.
