I have been suffering for about 3 weeks now with what was first thought to be migraine headaches until I started keeping track of the headaches and when and how often I have them. I'm now said the have Cluster headaches, as has been reported it's not that common in women. I told my doctor that I was a Tomboy when I was young maybe that's my problem. I had these same problems in 1996. But seemed to go away in a few weeks with those shots in the head. It hasn't really helped this time. I'm taking sumatriptan 50 mg or nose spray or injection. At this time the only thing that works and works fast is the injections. The nose spray and pills just don't cut it and I'm ready to take my headoff waiting on pills and spray. The only problem is insurance. They will only approve 6 injections in and 22 day period. I can pay for it myself but it's very expensive and you may know. It cost me $61.00 last week for (4) pills. We finally got it approved to up from 9 pills a month to 27 pills a month paid for. I really feel very frustrated by how this mess with your life, let alone how insurance messes with your pocket. I'm afraid to go to sleep at night knowing that I'll wake up with a headache, but in reality knowing that if I don't go to sleep it will happen anyway. They have started someother med's such as beta blocker and something else anti-inflamatory (sp) Now it's just hurry up and wait to see what works. Thanks for letting me cry about it in writing, it hurts to cry in reality.
