try oxygen! none of the painkillers worked for me. oxygen takes them away in about 5-10 mins. am getting a bottle for my bedroom so can just reach over at night and turn it on. i agree with you, the thought of addiction worries me, but the pain is worse. that's why i am so happy the O2 is working for me.
