Last night I received a disturbing phone call from my oldest daughter who lives a thousand miles away in Vancouver, BC. It seems she was having a terrible headache - my heart sank! She was mainly wanting to know about my symptoms and how I dealt with clusters. Although she can't see a neurologist until August 11th, and hasn't been diagnosed as yet with clusters, everything I remember about mine, and what I've read here indicate that is what she has. It seems to me that I have read here that some of us have parents who have this demon, and others who have children that suffer. (I remember Linda B's son) Does anyone know of any studies done that tracks heredity and clusters?
The second question I have relates to imitrex pills and allergic reactions. Anyone ever had any? Her doctor had given her a few samples to try, and when she took the first one, she had quite a reaction. In about 10 minutes the headache disappeared, but she had quite a head rush, her heart was racing, and her tongue and throat became quite swollen, and breathing was difficult. She had to stay upright, because when she laid down, she felt like she was suffocating. She also had a lot of nausea and vomiting with it.
I have advised her of the water treatment, the oxygen (which she won't be able to do anything with until she sees her doctor)and also told her about this site so that she could read all the information for herself.
It is bad enough that we have to suffer with this pain, but it is doubly hard to see our children follow down the same path.
