My doctor combined the Prednisone taper with 480 mg. of Verapamil a day plus Darvocet as needed for the shadows. It pretty much worked like a charm. The shadows lasted about four months, but they were so weak that I could even go to sleep with one. It took about a week for the meds to start working and I had to deal with a couple or three of what my wife calls “groaners” in the meantime, but, after that, it was just shadows that got weaker and weaker till I was able just to ignore them. I’m still taking the Verapamil - 120 mg. a day - but only because I have slightly high blood pressure.
