Hi Allan,
I found this site recently also, and I'm very grateful because I have learned so much. My CH's come in spring or fall as well. Like you i also kept a food/medicine/headache diary, had chiropractic manipulation, even had most of my dental mercury fillings removed and none of it helped. I have lived in New York most of my life. A few years ago I went to a Chinese accupuncturist and he told me that my clusters were allergy related and that is why I was more likely to get them during the change of season. I wanted to know why I didn't get them every spring and autumn, and he told me probably because my imunity was lower, and/or I did something to trigger it while vulnerable. Anyway, mine last for 6-8 weeks. When I went to him I was in my 2nd week and by the 2nd accupuncture treatment they were totally gone! I couldn't believe it. He had told me that in order to cure them completely-where they would never return I would have to receive weekly treatments for about 9 months to 1 year (I only had about 4-5 months of treatments). Although I still get the headaches, they don't seem as intense now. I recently started a treatment called NAET (it's an allergy elimination technique performed by chiropractors and accupuncturist.) I started looking for alternative therapies because I just got tired of paying doctors that knew less about these headaches than I did. Besides chiropractic what other alternatives have you tried?
Stay Well,
Caren
