First I'm going to apologize for the length of this post...

I am due to have a surgical procedure in a couple of weeks
and I am terrified of the headache I got the last time
I had a procedure done. The anesthesia triggered the
worst migraine ever, I had the worst response from the
doctor (ok Dr Sarcasm lovers, his name was Dr. Yale and
he practises ear nose and throat medicine in the Milwaukee
Wisconsin area! DONT GO TO THIS MAN!) Not only did he
botch the surgery for correcting a deviated septum, he
treated me as if I was trying to get drugs out of him when
my husband called his answering service at 2 AM because I
was on the floor, banging my head on the wall and sobbing
uncontrollably with the headache. The next day, when I
staggered into his office, he took one look at me and said,
"Oh... you ARE sick!"
Anyway, that's beside the point. (No, I didn't kill
him.) My question is, does anyone know anything about
surgical meds that trigger headaches, the ones to avoid, and so
forth? I will of course discuss this with my surgeon
and anesthesiologist, but given the sensitivity level
of most doctors, I am pretty skeptical.
By the way, if there is a list of Dr. Sarcasms out there,
maybe we should have a DR. Angel list too? Anyone in
the Milwaukee area who suffers and feels that no doctor
cares should check out Paul Maes, MD, he might as well
be named Marcus Welby because he is so caring, thorough
and personable.
