Due to the length of your attacks -- 8 to 72 hours, I'd say they are migraines not clusters. However, there are other things they could possibly be -- get with a neurologist who has headache experience. A good diagnosis is very important. Most of the people I know who suffer from migraines have had good success with inderal. Taken daily, it seems to keep their headaches at bay. Inderal won't do a thing for cluster sufferers though.
