Dear Jen,

I have a whole mouth full of root canals and gold teeth because my ch's would involve the lower jaw (mandible) and I just couldn't believe teeth were not involved. Didn't help one bit.

One other note I will add. Every well-meaning medical professional I have met seems to genuinely want to help us ch'ers. The trouble is that they are essentially experimenting in many cases. My advice: stick to neurologists with a specialty in headache treatment if at all possible. At the very least be sure your medical doctor is current on the literature and is willing to STUDY NEW INFORMATION about clusters.

I have tried acupuncture and chiropractic, laying-on of hands, various kinds of exorcism, various herbal and holistic remedies, and would not for a second deny any other cluster sufferer the right to pursue any remedy that is not outright fatal or otherwise stupid. How else will we find and share coping strategies that work? Sometimes just trying something, anything, is better than feeling resignation and depression.

OK, enough for now.
No pain,
John Bown
