TMJ is actually just a term for the tempo mandibular joint. If you move your jaw and feel your face around your ears...cheek area and below the ear. You can feel the jaw and find the joint. TMJ disorder is the pain and problems of people have with this joint. Sorry for the spelling, hope this helps explain it.
