I agree; many of us are self-absorbed -- more so than "others', I mean -- but in a way that's part of the nature of the beast we're dealing with.
Had you left an email address, I would have contacted you directly, and now you say you won't visit this site anymore, so I'm probably whistleing in the dark, but there are many wonderful people here giving very valuable advice and support, and I'm wondering why you're not plugging into that rather than the egomania and the negativity.
This website has been a lifeline to me. Before coming here I felt helpless and alone and ignorant --in short, a victim, and only a victim. I don't feel that way anymore, and while I, too, get really pissed at some of the presumptions, I now just let it ride for the simple reason that the positive far outweighs the negative.
Again, I do relate to some of what you say (for example, I think the deliberately misleading header on this post/meassage is unconscienable, like screaming fire in a theatre when there is no fire, but one has to let it pass and move on to the compassion, understanding and invaluable information that abounds here.
Meanwhile, I can only wish you pain free days ahead.
