Thanks for supporting the fact that a person can have a CH and still lie down. I'm new to this website and message board, and just when I think I've FINALLY found someplace where I can come and learn, listen and vent about this absolutely horrifying condition, there are already people saying I'm not allowed to lie down.

Guess what? I do.

Sorry if I sound slightly ticked off, but since when did cluster headaches achieve a country club status? Why should we have to defend our symptoms? I don't aspire to having this condition, believe me. If anybody wants to check my CH "credentials," make sure I check out as a bona fide CH sufferer, please email me and I'd be happy to detail the first dozen reasons (all pain-related) why I believe I should be admitted to the CH club. Maybe, just maybe, CH's are different for different people.

Frankly, I'm not sure why lying down helps me more, but then, nothing really helps except drugs, drugs drugs. I lie down whenever I'm not getting meds or puking. The light hurts my eyes so I like a dark room. My left eye is tearing so I can't see things (like walls and furniture) so I don't move around. My sinuses are draining like crazy so I get dizzy if I get up. And I can try to push ice cubes through my temple a lot easier when I'm lying down 'cause my arm gets tired after the first half an hour.

Okay, thanks for letting me vent. The time for my episode is coming soon, and honestly I'm getting more scared every day. Don't know if I'm going to handle it this time, and thought I had finally found some people who would understand that particular hopelessness that comes when you're waiting for the icepick guy to show up.

=(
