Well the big day draws near. Friday I go in hospital
for surgery to relieve pain in my back. While I am
not afraid of the surgery, and in fact welcome the
easing of the pain I've been dealing with for nearly ten
years, I'm terrified that the anesthetic will trigger
a Cluster episode. Today I saw my surgeon and overwhelmed
the poor lady with the entire printout of Medical info
from this site (thanks Todd for the suggestion, and DJ
for having this info there for me to print out in the
first place.) My surgeon had never heard of CH and I
just wanted to impress upon her that even though Ill be
on morphine for the post surgical pain, that it won't
help the CH.
Actually, the idea that I may be clustering and in too
much pain to enjoy my day and a half on morphine - that
would REALLY suck!
I've been in remission since December but have had a
lowgrade migraine pretty much constantly for the last
two weeks or so, and shadowing recently as well, so I'm
pretty scared. Any advice anyone can give would be
appreciated, especially if anyone has had any experience
with taking prednisone when the body is trying to heal
a major trauma like surgery. It is my understanding
that the Pred. can counteract the healing.
There are several of you that made a difference in my
life recently. You know who you are. Bless you.
Zeroes for all and big hugs too
Annie
